Our story is simple. We fell in love.

Once upon a time—say, 1991—our founder was feeling a little lost, existentially speaking. So she took a break from her everyday routine and headed for the Himalayas in search of inspiration.

While she was there, she met a man who was selling a beverage unlike anything she had ever tasted before. It was rich, it was creamy, it was spicy and it was sweet. What was this mysterious Himalayan drink, you ask? It was chai, and all it took was one sip to fall in love.

Upon returning home, she spent time perfecting her own recipe of the beloved beverage. Before long, Oregon Chai was born.

Today, Oregon Chai is part of the Kerry, Inc. family. As the first to bring authentic chai to the United States, we now spend our days striving to remain true to our Oregon roots while serving up “me time” wherever and whenever we can. We even like to think sharing these daily moments of peace and tranquility is good karma. Because if you really do get what you give, then we all have something delicious coming…
